Weaver, Ibrahim Advance to Hong Kong Open Finals

Princetonians had a presence in each final of the Milwaukee Hong Kong Open that wrapped on Sunday, with Olivia (Fiechter) Weaver '18 and Youssef Ibrahim '22 each going the distance on the other side of the globe.
Ibrahim, seeded eighth, won three matches to reach the semifinal, where he defeated second-seeded Paul Coll in four games. Mostafa Asal, the No. 1 seed, ended Ibrahim's run in the final, taking the title in three games.
On the women's side, Weaver, seeded fourth, won four times to reach the final before her run ended against third-seeded Nour El Sherbini in three games.
Ibrahim holds a No. 6 world ranking, the highest of his career, while Weaver holds a No. 5 world ranking after peaking at No. 4 through much of the past two years.
