Women's Rugby Wraps Up Competition At CRAA 7s National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The Princeton University women's rugby team wrapped up play at the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) 7s National Championships Saturday at Kuntz Stadium with hard-fought matches against Dartmouth, Harvard and LIU.
Celia Watson ended the day with four tries to lead the Tigers, finishing with a team-high six in the tournament. Ava Gregory scored twice while Annie Huettel and Stella McBride scored once, while Huettel completed three conversions.
In the Cup quarterfinal, Princeton to Dartmouth, 34-5, with Watson scoring for the Tigers.
Princeton would face defending national champions Harvard next in the Plate semifinal and pushed the Crimson to the limit in a narrow 29-22 loss. Watson scored her second try of the day, with McBride and Huettel scoring the Tigers' other two tries. Huettel successfully completed all three conversions.
The Tigers faced LIU in the seventh place match and came close to ending the tournament with a victory. Princeton fell just short to the Sharks, 24-20, in a contest that saw Watson score twice. Gregory and Huettel would also cross the try line for the Tigers.
