Nick Gilligan was pressed into service as a goalie as a sophomore because of injuries and appeared in 10 games in goal. He also played three times in the field during the season. Gilligan made his goalie debut in the second half of a win over Fordham and made eight saves in the win. He also made seven saves in wins over Fordham and Washington & Jefferson. He got the win in the second Fordham game. Gilligan added assists in wins over Connecticut College and Johns Hopkins and had a pair of two steal games against Iona and Fordham.
Gilligan appeared in five games as a freshman at Princeton and scored his first collegiate goal in Princeton's Southern quarterfinal win over Gannon. Gilligan added two steals during the season in wins against George Washington and Iona. Gilligan also appeared against Fordham.
Gilligan was a four-year varsity letterwinner in water polo and swimming at Pingry School. Gilligan captained both teams as a senior and was a first-team all-prep as a junior and senior. Gilligan was the team's Defensive MVP as a junior and the team's MVP as a senior.
