Athletic Medicine
The overall health of student athletes is key to Princeton Tiger Performance. Princeton University Athletic Medicine (PUAM) team, a unit of University Health Services, plays a pivotal role in supporting the overall health and performance of student athletes. This group includes a Director of Athletic Medicine/Team Physician, additional sports medicine trained Team Physicians, licensed/certified Athletic Trainers including two dual credentialed Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainers, and a comprehensive group of consultants, including University Orthopedic Associates.

As a partner to Princeton Tiger Performance, PUAM provides:
Training facilities are located in Caldwell Fieldhouse central to most athletic facilities. There are satellite facilities at Dillon Gymnasium and Baker rink as well as game day facilities located at Princeton Stadium and the Class of ’52 Stadium. PUAM takes great pride in offering the most up to date rehabilitation and recovery equipment possible including 2 Alter G treadmills and hot/cold immersion tubs.

Athletic Trainers are at the front line of care for student athletes. They offer many styles of treatment including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping, active release therapy, muscle energy, acupressure, scapular stabilization programs, lumbar stabilization programs, and Mulligan technique. Trainers place the health and well-being of the student-athlete first, communicating regularly with coaches, Princeton Tiger Performance staff, and PUAM resources. For more information on PUAM please click on the link to their homepage.

As a partner to Princeton Tiger Performance, PUAM provides:
- pre-participation physical exams
- rehabilitation and injury prevention
- referrals to specialists or for special testing
- linkage to other wellness resources on campus.
