BELLA ALARIE '20
Bella Alarie is a professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the WNBA and for Baloncesto Perfumerías Avenida of the Spanish Liga Femenia de Baloncesto. After being drafted 5th overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft – the highest ever Ivy League selection – Alarie spent her rookie campaign for the Wings playing in the WNBA’s bubble at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Bella is currently playing overseas in Spain, where she helped Avenida to a runner-up finish in the Euroleague Women’s Championship.
At Princeton, Bella became the first Ivy League player to earn consecutive Associated Press All-America Honors. She earned three Ivy League Player of the Year Honors, and was a four-time First Team All-Ivy selection. She is the program’s all-time leader in points, blocks, and double doubles, and was recognized as the 2020 C. Otto von Kienbusch Award recipient as the top senior female student-athlete after leading the Tigers to a 26-1 record as a senior team captain.
Bella graduated with a degree in History.
Stephanie Hsiao was named Marketing Director of NFL China in July 2008.
Stephanie is responsible for managing the NFL's fan development initiatives in China to create a sustainable fan base and build brand value. She oversees all aspects of local fan development, including content marketing and grassroots football development.
Stephanie began her professional career in the sports marketing division at Speedo in Los Angeles. In 2006, she moved to Beijing and began working at Octagon.
Stephanie graduated from Princeton with a degree in East Asian Studies. During her time at Princeton, she was a captain of the swimming and diving team where she received the Princeton Varsity Club’s Otto Von Kienbusch “Sportswoman of the Year” Award.
A native of Irvine, California, Stephanie now resides in Shanghai.
Whitney Malkiel currently serves as the VP/GM of Nike Women’s. A 17-year NIKE veteran. Whitney most recently served as VP/GM, Specialty Categories (Golf, Tennis, NIKE SB), and has previously served in various senior management roles across the company in New York, Amsterdam and now Portland. Prior to joining Nike, Whitney gained experience in investment banking, consulting, and the start-up space.
Whitney graduated from Princeton with a degree in history. While at Princeton, she earned varsity letters in both lacrosse and ice hockey, and was a member of the 1992 Ivy League champion ice hockey team. Whitney also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Whitney and her husband John Malkiel ’95, a Princeton lacrosse alum, reside in Portland, Oregon with their three sons.
Jill Pilgrim is the founder and managing attorney of Pilgrim & Associates Law Office, which focuses on business, non-profit and sports law. First founded in 1991, the firm was temporarily closed from 1998-2009, during which time Jill spent 15 years as the General Counsel for USA Track & Field, and two years as the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Track and Field Athletes Association.
In addition to her work with Pilgrim & Associates, Jill works as a law professor at Columbia University, and serves on the Knight Commission for Intercollegiate Athletics, aiding in their work to develop, promote and lead transformational change that prioritizes the education, health, safety and success of college athletes.
Jill graduated from Princeton in 1980 with a degree in politics and a certificate in African Studies. A sprinter on the track and field team, Jill won two team Ivy League championships as a Tiger, and was named team captain for the 1980 season. She earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School.
