What made you choose a career in healthcare?
I love thinking about the ways health impacts so many facets of our daily lives, and the way that as a healthcare worker we work to keep people and populations healthy.
What is the focus of your work today?
I prepare saliva samples from Princeton students on the Princeton Testing Protocol for testing in the COVID Lab.
How has your work changed in the face of COVID-19?
Being a Princeton student-athlete has prepared me for the roadblocks and tough times that are inevitable in the real world.Ethan McAlpine
This position opened up during the pandemic and I jumped at the opportunity to take part.
How did being a Princeton student-athlete prepare you for the challenges you’ve faced?
Being a Princeton student-athlete has prepared me for the roadblocks and tough times that are inevitable in the real world. Despite facing loss and fluctuating COVID rates throughout the year, remaining a team at the university testing center and working towards a goal of promoting and maintaining public health has given us confidence in our role in the Princeton community.
What keeps you inspired as you look ahead?
I look forward to working in a practice where I can deliver healthcare to a broader community as a practitioner. It keeps me inspired to work towards my ultimate goal to be a part of Doctors Without Borders and delivering healthcare in countries facing conflict and endemic diseases.
