Princeton Athletics is seeking the next voice of Princeton Basketball! We’re looking for an engaged and qualified individual to serve as our basketball team(s) home public address announcer. Applicants must have prior experience with public address and be committed to serving our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni, fans and the greater Princeton community.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as Public Address Announcer at all home basketball games (seasons running November-March).
- Potential to be considered as the voice of both men’s and women’s programs based on the applicant pool.
- Announce games, accurately describing plays, player and coaches names, player and team stats, game information, and other in-game items, all in real-time.
- Work cooperatively under the guidance of game day producer (marketing & fan experience staffer) to portray appropriate excitement across all elements of game day fan experience.
- Stay on top of potential milestones and key moments (i.e. tracking personal fouls, timeouts, etc.) by collaborating with table crew and keeping own in-game statistics as needed.
- Contribute to audience entertainment and enhance overall game day experience for student-athletes and fans.
- Aid in necessary activation of any emergency protocol and practices as directed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Extensive public address experience, preferably at the college or professional level.
- In-depth knowledge of the game of basketball and clear understanding of rules and regulations.
- Prior involvement with live events, fan experience, and entertainment.
