Craig French is an Athletics Facility Crewperson. He joined Princeton University in October 2024 with primary responsibilities at Baker Rink. Craig joined from Princeton Day School’s Lisa McGraw Ice Skating Rink and from the Lawrenceville School’s Tsai Field House Ice Rink, where he remains on-call as a part-time ice rink technician.
From 2017 through 2024, Craig also taught undergraduate economics courses at Villanova University as an adjunct professor. His focus on finance and economics led to two popular new courses that he designed which became highly sought after by students: Financial Economics, and Advanced Financial Economics. He also taught Macroeconomics. In 2005, Craig taught the “Introduction to Financial Engineering: Markets and Investments” master’s course (4799) in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia Business School. He has also guest lectured at NYU’s Stern School of Business, MIT’s Sloan School of Management, and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
From 1992 through 2016, Craig had a successful career on Wall Street working for Goldman Sachs, Susquehanna Investment Group, Societe Generale, Corbin Capital Partners, and other institutional investment firms, with a focus on portfolio management, quantitative strategies, and risk management.
Craig has published financial research in the Journal of Investment Management (where he also served as an associate editor and referee) and the Journal of Portfolio Management.
Craig served in the United States Army 2/47th Infantry and 11th Special Forces Group from 1984 through 1990.
Craig graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA, concentrating in finance and management, from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1996. He also received the PRMIA Certificate in Risk Management from Columbia Business School in 2007.
Craig has four children and lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
