COACHING HONORS
Former Seton Hall University standout Dominique Mason joined the coaching staff of the Princeton University women’s volleyball team in June 2021 and was promoted to Recruiting Coordinator in February 2024. Mason came to Princeton from her alma mater, where she served as a Special Assistant to Senior Administration from 2018-2020, along with the Director of Operations for the women’s volleyball team and an Affiliated Monitoring Specialist from 2018-19.
Under the Mason's guidance, the Tigers won the Ivy League Championship in 2022 and had a 21-4 record along with a 13-1 record in Ivy League play. Lindsey Kelly was named Ivy Player of the Year, Cameron Dames Defensive Player of the Year and Lucia Scalamandre Rookie of the Year in 2022, while five Tigers received All-Ivy League honors. The 2022 season also Princeton defeat Big Ten opponent Rutgers, along with BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall. Additionally, the Tigers were NCAA Statistical Champions in assist per set (13.80) and ranked second nationally in kills per set (14.74), while Lindsey Kelly was also the NCAA Statistical Champion in assists per set (12.10). Mason was also named to the Advancement of Blacks in Sports (ABIS) Watch List of Black Coaches in 2022.
The 2023 season saw Princeton finish second in Ivy League play, compiling an 11-3 record in conference play. Sydney Draper was named Rookie of the Year, and was one of three All-Ivy League honorees. Additionally, Lucia Scalamandre was named AVCA All-Regional Honorable mention for the Tigers defeated Big Ten opponent Rutgers for the second-straight season in non-conference play.
In the 2021 season, her first at Princeton, Mason worked with five All-Ivy League honorees; Elena Montgomery and Avery Luoma (First Team), Julia Schner and Lindsey Kelly (Second Team), along with Cameron Dames (Honorable Mention). The Tigers also earned a second-place finish in the Ivy League, compiling 16-6 record and a 10-4 record in Ivy League play.

She also served as the 16’s and 18’s Assistant Coach with the Tampa United Volleyball Club from 2014-2016 and as a Volleyball Camp Clinician with the Club Kace/Chicago Elite Volleyball Club from 2012-2014.

As a student-athlete, Mason played at Seton Hall from 2016-2018. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on four occasions and was named the Oklahoma Nike Invitational All-Tournament Team in 2017. During her two seasons as a Pirate she accumulated 509 kills, 331 digs and 62 blocks. Mason finished second on the team in kills (316) and kills per set (2.85) as a senior, while ranking 10th in the BIG EAST among conference matches in kills per set. Mason was also honored for her work in the classroom, as she was named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star in 2016.

Prior to Seton Hall, Mason was a member of the women’s volleyball team at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. A two-time all-conference selection, she helped the Hawks finish third at the NJCAA National Championships in 2015, the same year she helped lead the team to a Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Championship.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mason graduated from Seton Hall in 2018 with a Bachelor of Social & Behavioral Science. She also earned an Associate of Arts from Hillsborough in 2016.

Princeton went back-to-back in 2025, winning the outright Ivy championship, the program’s 21st, and the Ivy League Tournament. The Tigers made their ninth NCAA Tournament appearance and faced #4 seed USC in the first round. Sydney Draper was named Ivy Player of the Year and was joined on the First Team by Valerie Nutakor, while Lucia Scalamandre and Erin McNair collected Second Team honors.
The 2024 season saw Mason help lead Princeton to its second Ivy League title in the past three seasons along with the No. 1 seed and hosting rights in the Ivy Tournament.
