Amanda Rales, a recent graduate of Virginia, joins the women's tennis staff as the Cornelia Drake and John Van Ryn Jr. '28 Assistant Coach for the 2009-10 season.
Rales finished her Virginia career in 2009 with an 87-54 overall singles record and an 82-64 doubles mark. Both of those win totals make her third in school history. Her 169 total wins rank second all-time in Virginia women's tennis history.
A consistent ACC All-Academic honoree, Rales was an All-ACC team member as a junior and was second-team all-state by VaSID. As a sophomore, her 9-2 conference sincles record led the Cavaliers in ACC play.
Rales is a native of the Washington, D.C. area.
