Princeton Repeats as Regional Champion

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Princeton University men's cross country team ran itself right back into the NCAA Championships with a first-place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships today. This is the second straight year that the Tigers will compete at the NCAA Championships. They finished 17th last year.
Paul Morrison (Fr., Ontario, Canada) had his second straight impressive race, finishing seventh overall with a time of 31:25.05. Jim Colling (Sr., Henderson, Va.) wasn't far behind, finishing ninth with a time of 31:34.18. Mike Spence (Jr., E. Stroudsburg, Pa.) and Justin Niedzialek (Sr., Charlotte, N.C.) finished 12th and 13th, respectively, while John Carson secured the title with a 16th place finish. As a team, Princeton scored 57 points.
Georgetown University also qualified for Nationals with a second-place finish, scoring 76 points. Daniel Kinyua of Mt. St. Mary's College took the individual title with a time of 30:57.71.
The NCAA Championship race, which will be held at the University of Kansas, will take place on Monday, Nov. 23.
