MEN'S BASKETBALL
Last week Defeated Yale 56-46 (March 3), defeated Brown 85-57 (March 4)
This week at Pennsylvania (March 7)
Record 19-9 (11-2 Ivy League)
Highlights
- Chris Young (So., Dallas, Texas) had 30 points, 23 rebounds, 11 blocked shots and 10 assists
- Princeton had seven players in double figures against Brown, marking the first time in school history that the Tigers had done so
- Princeton improved to 50-0 all-time at home against Brown
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

This week at Penn (March 7)

Highlights
- After beginning the Ivy season 1-6, the Tigers have won five of their last six. The win over the Bears on Saturday was the third straight for Princeton.
- Tri-captain Kate Thirolf (Sr., Rockville, Md.) scored a season-high 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting, including a 4 for 6 performance from three-point land, against Yale. She added six rebounds and a team-high five assists. She also led the Tigers against Brown with 13 points and eight rebounds.
- Freshman Allison Cahill (Uxbridge, Mass.) came off the bench to score 10 points in each game last weekend. Cahill shot 6 of 13 from the floor and 4 of 8 from long range. She leads all freshmen and is third on the team in scoring, averaging 6.9 points per game.
- The Tigers will play their final game of the season against Penn (March 7).
MEN'S HOCKEY
Last week Tied Colgate 2-2 (Mar. 3), Lost to Cornell 5-3 (Mar. 4)
This week at Clarkson, ECAC first-round series (Mar. 10-12)
Record 10-14-4 (8-9-4 ECAC, 5-3-2 Ivy)
Highlights
- George Parros (Fr., Randolph, N.J.) scored a goal in both games, including a power-play goal at Cornell
- Brad Parsons (So., Kingston, Mass.) scored the game-tying goal at Colgate, he leads the team with 11 goals
- Shane Campbell (Jr., Red Deer, Alberta) and Benoit Morin (Sr., Montreal, Que.) each scored goals in the loss at Cornell
- No. 6 Princeton will travel to No. 5 Clarkson for the ECAC first-round series, the winner goes to Lake Placid to participate in the ECAC Final Five
WOMEN'S HOCKEY

- Annamarie Holmes (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) scored a power-play goal against Brown.
- Nikola Holmes (Fr., Apple Valley, Minn.) also had a goal against Brown.
- Aviva Grumet-Morris (So., Evanston, Ill.) had two assists vs. Brown.
SOFTBALL
Last week Defeated La Salle 4-0, Lost to Maryland 6-5 (March 4), Lost to Connecticut 1-0, Defeated La Salle 10-6 (March 5)

Highlights
- Brie Galicinao (So., Stockton, Calif.) hit her first collegiate home run in the first inning of the victory over La Salle on March 4
- Devon Keefe (Jr., Winter Park, Fla.) ended the 10-6 win over La Salle with a grand slam
- Sarah Peterman (Sr., Davis, Calif.) pitched 13 innings without giving up an earned run and won a pair of games
- Mackenzie Forsythe (Fr., Lake Oswego, Ore.) hit her first collegiate home run in the second victory over La Salle
MEN'S FENCING

Highlights
- The men's fencing team combined with the women to win the 6-weapon title at the Intercollegiate Fencing Association Championship last weekend.
- In the squad competition, the men's foil finished in a tied for first, the men's ?p?e finished second and the men's sabre finished fourth.
- Freshman James Wallen (Fontana, Calif.) placed eighth in the sabre weapon in the individual competition.
WOMEN'S FENCING

Highlights
- The women's fencing team combined with the men to win the 6-weapon title at the Intercollegiate Fencing Association Championship last weekend.
- Princeton won the ?p?e and foil squad titles en route to the three-weapon crown. The women's sabre finished fourth.
- Mindy Rostal (Fr., Maplewood, Minn.) finished second in the foil individual competition, while classmate Eva Petschnigg (Koblenz, Germany) finished third.

- Scott Denbo (Jr., Nashville, Tenn.) won the shot put with a mark of 59' 6.25.
- Jonathan Jessup (Jr., Bryan, Texas) finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 16' 8.75"
- Tensai Asfaw (Jr., Lawrenceville, N.J.) finished eighth in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:28.16.
MEN'S LACROSSE

- Matt Striebel (Jr., Gill, Mass.) had a career-high four goals
- Josh Sims (Sr., Edgewater, Md.) had two goals and four assists
- Josh White (Fr., Annapolis, Md.) had two goals in his first lacrosse game after three years in the Army
- Princeton is 9-3 in its last 12 games against Johns Hopkins after going 0-24 prior to that against the Blue Jays

Highlights
- Princeton won its season opener for the 11th time in the last 12 years.
- The Tigers were ranked No. 9 in preseason poll and will take on No. 8 Loyola on Sunday, March 12, in Baltimore.
- Sophomore Lauren Simone (Delran, N.J.) scored four goals and added two assists in the win over Rutgers. She also recorded five ground balls and five draw controls.
- Julie Shaner (Jr., Gwynedd Valley, Pa.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the second half at Rutgers.

Highlights
- Princeton had three individual champions and one relay champion over the weekend.
- Jesse Gage (Fr., Dix Hills, N.Y.) was first in the 100 fly with a meet record time of 47.48
- Christopher Cunningham (So., Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) was the champion of the 200 free with a time of 1:38.07 which was an NCAA B-cut qualifying time.
- Matt Harrigan (Jr., Allison Park, Pa.) won the 200 breast with a time of 2:01.66.
- The Tigers' 400 free relay team dethroned seven-seven time champion Harvard with a time of 2:59.16.

- Julia Beaver (Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) won her second-straight individual national title. She was down a match-ball in the semifinals before rallying for a five-game win and then also won the final in five games.

- Peter Yik (Sr., N. Vancouver, B.C.) won his second-straight national individual title. Yik, who did not lose a game in the tournament, won the final 15-14, 15-1, 15-4 over Trinity's Marcus Cowie.

- Jeffrey Bernd (Jr., Virginia Beach, Vir.) placed fifth at 149 pounds by defeating Jason Mercado of Brown 11-5, he is Princeton's only top-five finisher
- Marc Steyer (Sr., Topsfield, Mass.) and Greg Parker (Fr., Clifton Park, N.Y.) finished sixth at 125 pounds and 165 pounds, respectively
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

- Ahn Ahn Liu (Sr., Bellevue, Wash.) won his match and is now 14-4 on the season.
- Judson Williams (So., Raleigh, N.C.) defeated his opponent for a five-match winning streak and has won seven of his last eight matches.
