La Verne, Calif. - The Tigers won their season opener 3-1 (31-33, 31-29, 30-24, 30-22) at the University of La Verne. Sophomore Dennis Alshuler (Opp., Newport Beach, Calif.) led Princeton with a 23-kill performance, junior Gary Chern (MH, Corte Madera, Calif.) paced the Tigers with a team-high 13 digs. Freshman setter Jason Liljestrom (Irvine, Calif.) had 62 assists in his collegiate debut, and Steve Cooper had a team-high .381 hitting percentage for the Tigers.
