Irvine, Calif. - The No. 14-ranked UC-Irvine Anteaters proved too difficult for the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday night, defeating them 3-0 (30-17, 30-26, 30-17). Princeton's best chance to make the match interesting came in the second game when the Tigers and Anteaters were tied 21-21, however, UC-Irvine would go on a 9-5 run to win the game. Freshman Jason Liljestrom, who is from Irvine, Calif., had a match-high 34 assists in a losing effort, and Ryan Black (Sr., MH, Webster, N.Y.) had a team-high three blocks. Senior Blair Anderson (OH, Laguna Beach, Calif.) and junior Gary Chern (MH, Corte Madera, Calif.) each had six digs.
The Tigers play at UC-San Diego on Thursday Feb. 1, 2001 at 10:00 ET (7:00 PT).
