PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton women's volleyball team took and early lead and held on for a 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-25) win over Harvard in Ivy League action on Saturday afternoon at the Malkin Athletic Center. The win extends the Tigers' win streak to four and moves them to 10-7 and 4-3 during Ivy play. The Crimson drop to 9-9 and 2-6 in league play.
Princeton staked a 13-8 lead before the Crimson registered back-to-back kills to close the gap to 13-10, but that was as close as Harvard would come as the Tigers went on to a 30-20 win. The Orange and Black won the second game 30-25 and closed out the match with a 30-25 win in the game three.
Freshman Ashley Webber (South Pasadena, Calif.) led the Tigers with16 kills while sophomore Marissa Becker (Newport Beach, Calif.) had a match-high 14 digs. Four different players each registered 10 kills for Princeton and senior captain Ana Yoerg (Bloomfield, Mich.) had 50 assists.
Pernilla Schweitzer had 12 kills and 13 digs while Mindy Jellin turned in 43 assists for the Crimson.
Princeton will return to action on Friday, Nov. 2 when they travel to face Columbia at 7 p.m. The Tigers then meet Cornell at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 for more Ivy League action.
