Princeton and Providence Skate to 1-1 Tie

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Princeton and Providence skated to a 1-1 overtime tie in women's hockey Friday at Schneider Rink.
Princeton took a 1-0 lead at the 5:27 mark of the first period as sophomore Gretchen Anderson (Natick, Mass.) scored off an assist from sophomore Susan Hobson (Mississauga, Ont.). The Friars tied the game at the 16:39 mark of the first period on senior Angela Hill's goal, with the only assist going to sophomore Darlene Stephenson.
Providence outshot Princeton 24-23, as the Tigers' Sarah Alquist (South St. Paul, Mich.) made 23 saves, while Amy Quinlan stopped 22 shots for the Friars.
Providence is 3-4-2 overall, while Princeton is 1-3-1. Princeton plays at Yale Saturday at 1 p.m. The Tigers next home games are Nov. 24 vs. Boston College and Nov. 25 against Connecticut. Both games at Hobey Baker Rink start at 2 p.m.
