Women's Hockey Hammers Yale 4-0

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Gretchen Anderson (Natick, Mass.) registered a goal and an assist as the Princeton women's hockey team broke open a scoreless game with four goals in the third period en route to a 4-0 win at Yale on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers held a 39-15 shot advantage over the Bulldogs but could not get the puck past Yale netminder Nicolette Franck until the 55 second mark of the third period. Freshman Susan Hobson (Mississauga, Ont.) lit the lamp with her first goal of the season, and the eventual game-winner off of an assist from Angela Gooldy (New Hartford, N.Y.) to give Princeton a 1-0 lead.
Junior Nikola Holmes (Apple Valley, Minn.) added to that lead at 13:23 off of an assist from Anderson, who added a goal of her own at 16:05 to put the Tigers up 3-0. Senior co-captain Aviva Grumet-Morris (Evanston, Ill.) capped the game with her first goal of the season at 18:46 off of an assist from junior Lisa Rasmussen (Washington, D.C.) to give Princeton the 4-0 victory.
Sophomore Megan Van Beusekom (Loretto, Minn.) stopped 15 shots between the pipes for the Tigers as she picked up her first shutout of the season. Franck finished the day with 35 saves in goal for Yale.
Princeton (2-3-1, 1-2-0 ECAC-N) will return to action nest weekend when it hosts Boston College and Connecticut on Saturday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 25. Both games are at 2 p.m.
