Columbus, OHIO - The Princeton women's hockey team saw its eight-game unbeaten streak come to a close with a 3-0 loss to Ohio State on Friday night at OSU Ice Arena. The Tigers brought a five-game winning streak into the contest, but were held scoreless for the first time this season.
Jeni Creary (Fr., Shell Lake, Saskatchewan) put the Buckeyes on the board with her team-leading 15th goal of the season just 2:07 into the contest. Jennifer Desson (Fr., Niagara Falls, Ont.) assisted on the goal.
The score would remain 1-0 until the 12:41 mark of the third period. Emily Hudak (Marblehead, Mass.) found the back of the net with her fourth goal of the season off of assists from Jeanne Chapple (So., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) and Desson to give Ohio State a two-goal cushion.
The Buckeyes added to that lead exactly three minutes later. Lindsey Steblen (Jr., Clayton, N.Y.) gave the hosts a 3-0 lead with her first goal of the season at 15:41 with assists from Katie Frohreich (Jr., Naudette, Minn.) and Creary.
Princeton held a 29-19 shot advantage in the game but was unable to solve Ohio State netminder Melissa Glaser (Jr., Rockford, Ill.), who finished the game with 29 saves. Megan Van Beusekom (So., Loretto, Minn.) posted 15 saves in goal for the Tigers.
