Princeton regained its spot as the No. 1-ranked team in Division I men's lacrosse when the USILA poll was announced Monday.
Princeton was ranked No. 1 for one week before its loss to Syracuse March 24, Princeton's only loss of the season. The Tigers fell to fourth after that loss before moving to second and finally back to first after Syracuse's 14-13 overtime loss to Loyola Saturday.
Princeton is 7-1 overall, 3-0 in the Ivy League and the winner of 34 straight Ivy games. The Tigers, who have outscored their three league opponents 47-14, host Harvard Saturday (3 p.m., following Princeton-Harvard women at noon).
Freshman Ryan Boyle, who had five goals and seven assists as Princeton defeated Penn and Brown last week, was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. Boyle leads Princeton in scoring with 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) and is looking to become the first Tiger freshman since Kevin Lowe in 1991 to do so for a full season.
