Princeton, N.J. - Princeton won each of the first nine events en route to a 152-118 victory over Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon at DeNunzio Pool. Seniors Kate Conroy and Sandra Kamholz won their events in the last home swim meet of their Princeton careers as the Tigers improve to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Ivy League.
The junior medley relay team consisting of Michelle Nielson, Chrissy Holland, Molly Seto and Becky Wein captured the 200-yard medley relay in 1:48.34 to start things off for Princeton. The Tigers finished 1-2-3-4 in the next three events as junior Maura Bolger won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.51), sophomore Stephanie Wright led the way in the 400-yard IM (4:38.22) and sophomore Katie Kopil finished first in the 100-yard freesyle (55.04).
Conroy won the 50-yard backstroke in 27.65 and Kamholz won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.00 on senior day at DeNunzio. Senior Marie-Ann Casperite finished second in the 400-yard IM (4:38.78) and senior divers Katherine Mattison and Danielle Stramandi finished second and third respectively on the 1-meter board.
"This was a good meet to get us back into the swing of things after our break," says Coach Susan Teeter. "We're really looking forward to the H-Y-P meet next weekend."
The Tigers head to Yale to face the Bulldogs along with the Harvard Crimson next Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 2-3. The H-Y-P meet will have a 7 p.m. session on Saturday and a 1 p.m. session on Sunday. Princeton defeated both Harvard and Yale at last season's H-Y-P meet.
