Buffum Leads Volleyball Past Cornell, 3-1

Ithaca, N.Y. - Michelle Buffum led three Princeton attackers with double figures in kills with 18 as Princeton won its first Ivy League match of the season, knocking off Cornell 3-1.The Tigers took a 2-0 lead and improved to 8-2 on the year (1-1 Ivy) with a 30-22, 30-26, 25-30, 30-16 win. The Big Red dropped to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Buffum added eight digs and three service aces in the win, while Kellie Cramm tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Abby Studer hit .440 with 12 kills on 25 attempts to also finish in double figures. Studer was in on six of the Tigers eight blocks on the afternoon. Marissa Becker collected 17 digs in the libero spot, while Jenny Senske had 49 assists and seven digs for the Tigers, who own their second straight match. Princeton hit .200 as a team and outhit the Big Red in all three games that it won.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, October 12 when they visit Columbia for a 4:00 p.m. match.
