Women's Volleyball Earns Perfect Ivy Weekend With 3-1 Win At Columbia

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Senior Michelle Buffum (San Jose, Calif.) led Princeton with 19 kills while freshman setter Jenny Senske (Long Beach, Calif.) had 49 assists to lead the women's volleyball to a 3-1 victory over Columbia Saturday night. Princeton moved to 2-1 in Ivy play with the win and kept pace with both Cornell and Penn, both of which have one league loss. All three teams chase Harvard, and each will play the Crimson in the next two weeks.
Princeton fell 30-26 in the first game but rallied to win each of the last three. The Tigers edged out the Lions 30-28 in the second game and took the match with 30-26 and 30-23 wins, respectively.
Senior Abby Studer (Signal Mountain, Ga.) recorded 12 kills and had a team-best .476 hitting percentage, while teammate Kellie Cramm (Laguna Beach, Calif.) had 13 kills and 14 digs. Freshman Lauren Grumet (Summerland, Calif.) added 16 digs and 14 kills for the Tigers.
Columbia hurt itself with 16 service errors, and it watched its attack percentage drop in each of the last three game. In the final game, the Tigers hit .316 as a team while Columbia hit .163.
Princeton continues its road Ivy stretch next weekend, beginning with a Friday night match at Brown.
