Water Polo Readies for Southern Championship Match

Princeton, N.J. - Princeton defeated Bucknell 16-7 in the semifinals to advance to the championship match of the CWPA Southern Divisional Championships. The Tigers will face the winner of Navy / Johns Hopkins in the title match as they defend their 2001 Southern title.
The Tigers opened an 8-1 lead in the first quarter and took a 12-2 advantage into halftime. Kevin Foster and John Stover each tallied five goals in the game. Robert Urquhart scored three, D.J. Halliday had one and Derrick Wong had one. Wong also picked up four assists in the win.
Peter Sabbatini had a strong game for the Tigers, tallying eight saves including stuffing a 4-meter shot.
Earlier in the day, the Tigers defeated Mercyhurst 11-2. Jacab Haeter scored a team-high 4 goals. Sean Mcintire and Dean Rsikas each scored two goals. Scott Zawilski, T.J. Edwards and Gant Morgner each had one. Morger as recorded five saves in the game. Chris Armato, who relieved Morger in net tallied three saves.
Princeton will compete for the Southern title tomorrow. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
