No. 8 Men’s Water Polo Set For MPSF Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - The men's water polo team is set for the MPSF Invitational this upcoming weekend in Stanford, Calif.
Princeton enters this weekend having defeated two ranked teams in San Jose State and Pepperdine, moved up in the rankings, following a clean sweep hosting the invite, winning all five games, while also sweeping the weekly NWPC awards.
Awards went to junior Ádám Peocz (Player of the Week), senior Kristóf Kovács (Defensive Player of the Week) and freshman Oliver Marcin (Rookie of the Week).
Peocz posted 11 goals, 14 assists, four steals and six ejections drawn over the course of five games.
Kovács with his back to back honors to start of the season, started four of five games. The senior goaltender made 64 saves on a total of 97 shots faced, good for a 0.660 save percentage on the weekend.
Marcin receives his first career Rookie of the Week honors. Marcin tallied six goals, five assists and 10 ejections drawn over the weekend.
The Tigers are set to face San Jose State for yet another ranked matchup Friday evening at 6:20 p.m. (3:20 p.m. PT). The winner of this game will play the winner of #2 USC and #15 Cal Baptist, while the loser will play the loser of that match. That will determine the schedule for the remainder of the weekend.
