Princeton, N.J. - Led by seniors Michelle Buffum and Abby Studer, the Tigers defeated the Big Red of Cornell 3-2 in women's volleyball. Buffum and Studer each tallied 17 kills in the win as the Tigers improve to 13-5, 6-3 IVY. Cornell slips to 13-9, 5-5 IVY.
Princeton won the first game 30-25 but Cornell battled back to win the second and third, 30-27, 32-30. Princeton took the fourth game 30-24 and the fifth 15-11. Lauren Grumet tallied 14 kills for the Tigers; Kellie Cramm recorded 12. Brittany Wood had a team-high three blocks and Jenny Senske recorded a team-high 47 assists.
Cornell was led by heavy-hitters Debbie Quibell with a game high 22 kills, Angela Barbera with 21 and Ashley Stover with 17.
With the win, Princeton remains in the hunt with five League games remaining. Princeton will travel to Harvard on Friday, November 8 for a 7:00 pm match and to Dartmouth on Saturday, November 9 for a 4:00 p.m. match.
