Parker Places Sixth At Midlands

Over the winter holiday, two Princeton wrestlers, Greg Parker and John Knorring competed at the 40th Annual Midlands Championships at Welsh-Ryan Arena on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Princeton placed 28th of the 57 schools competing, tied with Stanford.
Parker entered the tournament off the heels of a first-place finish at the Reno Tournament of Champions. At Midlands, he wrestled to a 4-3 record and placed sixth at 184 lbs. He began the tournament with wins over Brad Christie of Hofstra and Ben Heizer of Northern Illinois.
In the third-round, Parker dropped a 6-2 decision at the hands of Mark becks of Penn State, but rebounded with wins over Central Michigan's Alex Lammers and Ohio State's Casey Kapustka.
Parker entered the quarterfinals and dropped a 4-3 decision to Gerald Harris of Cleveland State which placed him in the fifth-place match, in which he was defeated, 8-5 by Ryan Wilman of West Virginia. Knorring went 2-2 in his matches and did not place.
