Princeton Tops Maine In Women's Hockey 3-1

Orono, Maine. - Princeton spotted Maine an early goal and then came storming back for a 3-1 win Saturday afternoon. Three different Tigers scored one goal each.
Maine opened the scoring at 14:19 of the first period, as Meagan Aarts broke into the offensive zone on the left wing and fed a pass to a cutting Nicole Munro, who one-timed a shot past Princeton goalie Megan Van Beusekom for a 1-0 lead. The Tigers answered at 2:42 of the second with Maine on the power play, as Gretchen Anderson came in on the right side and, with a defender on her, backhanded a shot high toward the far post that beat Cronin over her right shoulder. Lisa Rasmussen added a power play goal and Jessica Fedderly notched her second of the season, both in the second period.
Maine dominated play in the third, but Van Beusekom turned away all 10 shots she faced in the period to preserve the win. Aviva Grumet-Morris finished with three assists for Princeton.
Cronin made 23 saves for Maine in her fourth loss of the season, while Van Beusekom stopped 27 shots to improve her record to 9-3-0.
Princeton is now 14-6-3.
