On the one hand ... - A Cornell win over Princeton would eliminate the Tigers (and Yale) from Ivy League championship contention.
... on the other hand - A Princeton win over Cornell would tie the teams in the Ivy standings and give the Tigers the tiebreaker for the league's automatic bid if the two should finish as co-champions.
A league of their own - Princeton has won seven straight Ivy League championships and eight in the last nine years. In case you're wondering - There could still be a three-way or four-way tie for the Ivy League championship involving some combination of Princeton, Cornell, Brown or Yale.
History lesson - This is the first time since the 1990 NCAA quarterfinals against Yale that Princeton is the lower-ranked team in an Ivy League game.
More history - The last time Princeton and Cornell played when Cornell was the higher-ranked team was 1988 in 1989, and Princeton has been ranked higher each of the last 12 meetings.
The whammy - Bill Tierney enters this weekend's game with 199 career wins.
Strength of schedule - According to laxpower.com, Princeton has played the third toughest schedule in Division I lacrosse, Cornell has played the seventh toughest.
More strength - Princeton is playing its 10th game of the season. Eight of Princeton's 10 opponents, including Cornell, are ranked in the Top 15 of this week's USILA poll.
Streaking - Princeton has won six straight games against Cornell.
Net results - Princeton has scored nine and seven goals in its two previous games against Cornell goalie Justin Cynar.
In case you forgot - Princeton trailed Cornell 4-1 in the third quarter of last year's game before scoring the final six goals for a 7-4 victory.
More forgot - Sean Hartofilis missed his first 14 shots against Cornell a year ago before scoring three straight goals in the second half.
Boyle-ing point - Ryan Boyle leads the Ivy League and is seventh in Division I in assists per game (2.22 per game).
Good as Gould - Julian Gould is fifth in Division I in goals-against average (7.39) and second in save percentage (.627).
Aw, shoot - Cornell's defense is limiting opponents to 25.5 shots per game, Princeton averages 37.3 shots per game.
U.S.A., U.S.A. - Princeton's Ryan Boyle and Cornell's Ryan McClay will be teammates on the U.S. national team at the World Championships this summer in Australia.
D plus - Damien Davis has guarded the last three opponents' leading scorers (Scott Solow of Penn, Alex Lieske of Duke, Matt Primm of Harvard) and held them to no goals and two assists combined.
In case you forgot - B.J. Prager tore his ACL in his only other Class of 1952 Stadium game against Cornell (2000).
Can you spare a dime? - Sophomore Ryan Boyle has 57 career assists in 24 career games.
More dimes - Ryan Boyle has 57 career assists. The next three highest Princeton players combined (B.J. Prager, Sean Hartofilis, Brendan Tierney) have 42.
Get to the point - Ryan Boyle has at least one point in every game of his career.
More point - Ryan Boyle is the only Princeton player with at least one point in every game this season.
Moving up the charts - B.J. Prager has 102 career goals. He needs one to tie Josh Sims '00 for fifth all-time at Princeton.
In case it comes to that - B.J. Prager is the only current Princeton player to score an overtime goal, and he has done it twice. Prager scored in overtime against Syracuse in last year's NCAA championship game and in the third overtime against Duke this season.
More in case it comes to that - Both of B.J. Prager's career overtime goals have been off assists from Ryan Boyle.
Daly news - Owen Daly had his first career three-goal game in Princeton's 18-4 win over Harvard last weekend.
Be all that you can be - Josh White, who spent two years in the Army after high school, has seven goals and three assists in his last four games.
No Joshing - Josh White has 13 points this season (9g, 4a) after having 16 his first two years combined.
Just Du-mont it - Brad Dumont has scored 17 goals in his last 12 games dating to the start of last year's NCAA tournament. Dumont had 12 goals for the first 29 games of his career prior to that.
We're honored - Ryan Boyle and Sean Greenhalgh are the reigning Ivy Co-Players of the Week.
I'd like to thank the academy - Defenseman Joe Rosenbaum was an extra in the Academy Award-winning movie "A Beautiful Mind."
We are the champions - Princeton has won six NCAA championships in the last 10 years.
