Princetonians Help U.S. Past Australia At World Lacrosse Championships

Perth, Australia - Kevin Lowe had four goals and an assist and Ryan Boyle had two goals and three assists as the U.S. defeated host Australia 22-7 in the second game of pool play at the World Lacrosse Championships.
The U.S. improved to 2-0 and has now outscored its two opponents, Australia and the Iroquois team, by a combined 43-13.
Lowe, the 1994 Ivy Player of the Year, has eight goals and an assist in two games, while Boyle, the 2002 Ivy Player of the Year, has five goals and six assists.
Matt Striebel '01 also scored for the U.S.
Trevor Tierney '01 split time in goal for the U.S. with Chris Lamonica (Hartford '97); the two combined for 11 saves. Ryan Mollett, the 2001 Ivy Player of the Year, is a starting defenseman for the U.S. team. Michael Powell of Syracuse had three goals and four assists for the Americans against Australia. Lowe's brother Darren, the 1992 Ivy Player of the Year at Brown, had three goals and three assists, while Steve Dusseau of Georgetown had there goals.
The U.S. plays Canada Tuesday in a rematch of the 1998 championship game, won by the Americans.
