Women's Hockey Defeats Vermont 5-1

Burlington, Vt. - The No. 9 Princeton women's hockey team rebounded from a tough defeat yesterday to down Vermont 5-1 Saturday afternoon at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Four Tigers recorded multiple points in the win, including senior Susan Hobson who netted the game-winner. Princeton is now 5-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the ECAC.
The Tigers jumped ahead with two goals in the first period. Senior Gretchen Anderson opened the scoring with her 10th goal of the season five minutes into the game. Senior Lisa Rasmussen assisted on the goal. The just at the halfway mark of the period, Hobson scored the evntual game-winner, from freshman Dina McCumber and sophomroe Sarah Butsch.
Princeton also scored twice in the second period. First, junior Becky Stewart netted her second of the year from Hobson and Butsch, then Princeton's freshman line earned a goal when freshman Laura Watt earned the first of her career. Freshman Liz Keady assisted on the goal.
Heather Jackson added the final goal in the third period from Rasmussen and Anderson. Sophomore goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel made 16 saves to earn her second win of the year. Princeton is now 6-0-0 all-time against the Catamounts.
The Tigers return to action next Friday night at Yale.
