Women's Hockey Falls to Top-Ranked Harvard

Gretchen Anderson scored Princeton's lone goal as the 10th-ranked women's hockey team fell 4-1 to top-ranked Harvard Friday night at the Bright Hockey Center. Harvard's Jennifer Botterill scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Crimson. The loss dropped the Tigers to 15-8-2 overall and 8-5-0.
Botterill put the Crimson up 1-0 with her first goal of the night at 6:05. Lauren McAuliffe fed Julie Chu, whose shot slid across the crease to Botterill. She was able to sneak in uncontested and beat Princeton netminder Megan Van Beusekom with her 33rd goal of the season.
Chu made it a 2-0 game with a power play tally at 16:06. Angela Ruggiero unleashed the intital slapshot from the blueline, Botterill deflected it to Chu on the left post where she beat Van Beusekom. Botterill scored again at 2:39 to make it 3-0. McAuliffe made it 4-0 in favor of the Crimson with a goal at 17:50. She got the puck from Botterill, skated in on Van Beusekom, deked her out of position and beat her glove side. Chu also assisted on the goal.
Princeton broke up Harvard's bid for a shutout with a goal from Gretchen Anderson off of an assist from Sarah Shea at 18:36.
Princeton completes its final road trip of the regular season tomorrow afternoon at Brown at 4 p.m.
