The 10th-ranked Princeton women's hockey team scored four first period goals and never looked back as the Tigers put an end to a two-game losing streak with a 5-2 win Saturday afternoon over Brown at Meehan Auditorium.
Princeton came out firing on all cylinders and skated to a 4-0 lead in the first period. Princeton's Gretchen Anderson led the Tigers with a goal and two assists for three points and Megan Van Buesekom made 17 saves.
April Brown opened the scoring just 1:41 into the game following a setup from Anderson. Just over a minute later, Princeton made it 2-0 when Andrea Kilbourne sneaked one past Brown goalkeeper Pam Dreyer. Katharine Maglione picked up an assist on the goal. The Tigers recorded their first of two shorthanded goals in the period at 10:20 when Anderson stole the puck and beat Dreyer in front of the net. At 16:41, Princeton took a 4-0 lead when Heather Jackson hooked up with Becky Stewart for another shorthanded tally.
Brown had one goal in the first period that was disallowed. Karen Thatcher got the puck past the goal line eight minutes into the period but the goal was disallowed due to a player in the crease.

Princeton completes the regular season next weekend at home when the Tigers host Vermont and Dartmouth on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
