Harvard Forces Third Game in ECAC Quarterfinal Sunday
February 28, 2026 | Women's Ice Hockey
Three second-period goals gave eighth-seeded Harvard a lead on Saturday in the second game of the ECAC Hockey quarterfinal series at Baker Rink, and despite a third-period goal from Issy Wunder, the Crimson forced a decisive third game on Sunday against second-seeded Princeton.Â
Wunder's goal was her 27th of the season and 70th of her career, making her the 14th player in program history to reach 70 career goals. Â
Harvard's goals came in a six-minute span before the midway point of the second period. Morgan McGathey got the Crimson on the board before Carla McSweeney added a goal just more than three minutes later, and Angelica Megdanis had the last goal with 11-plus minutes to play before the last ice cut.Â
The lost came despite Princeton outshooting Harvard 89-38 overall and 42-20 on goal. Uma Corniea made 17 stops while Havard's Ainsley Tuffy stopped 41 of the Tigers' 42 shots on goal.Â
Sunday's series finale will start at 3 p.m. with the winner moving on to the ECAC semifinals in Lake Placid, N.Y. next weekend.
