With Sunday's 5-1 win over Harvard, Princeton advanced to the ECAC semis for the first time since 2022

Women's Hockey Defeats Harvard, Advances to ECAC Semifinals

Scoring five goals over the first two periods on Sunday afternoon at Baker Rink, the second-seeded Princeton women's hockey team was a 5-1 winner over eighth-seeded Harvard to complete the ECAC Hockey quarterfinal series win.
Princeton will advance to face third-seeded Quinnipiac on Friday at 7 p.m. in the second semifinal at the 1980 Rink at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y. Top-seeded Yale will meet fourth-seeded Cornell in the first semifinal at 4 p.m. with the winners meeting on Saturday for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It will be Princeton's first appearance in the ECAC semis since 2022.
Princeton scored twice in the final six minutes of the opening period to start the scoring. Riley Sorokan opened the scoring with five and a half minutes to go before Katherine Khramtsov scored a power-play goal with 30 seconds to go.
The teams combined for the remaining four goals before 11 minutes were gone in the second period. Scoring 50 seconds apart, Mackenzie Alexander scored 5-plus minutes into the middle frame, before Ellie Dimatos made it 4-0 with six-minutes gone. Harvard spoiled the shutout with an Emi Biotti goal with 11 minutes left in the period, and 95 seconds later Brooklyn Nimegeers had Princeton's final goal 10:40 into the period.Â
Princeton outshot Harvard 76-49 overall and 46-26 on goal with Uma Corniea making 25 stops.Â
The win was Princeton's 23rd of the season which stands as the second-most in program history behind the 26 wins that the 2019-20 Tigers had.Â
