Anderson Scores Five Points In Win Over Cornell

Gretchen Anderson assisted on Princeton's first three goals and scored the next two as Princeton posted a 6-0 shutout of Cornell Saturday afternoon at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, N.Y. Andrea Kilbourne also scored twice for the Tigers as they improved to 13-6-2 on the season.
Princeton came out of the gates strong and set the tone early scoring twice in the game's first three minutes. Captain Nikola Holmes opened the scoring a mere 26 seconds into the game to gove the Tigers a lead they would never relinquish. Holmes' third goal of the season was assisted by Kilbourne and Anderson.
Kilbourne made it a 2-0 game at the 2:23 mark. Holmes and Anderson assisted. Kilbourne connected again in the second period to make the score 3-0. Anderson posted her third assist of the game on that goal.
Anderson broke into the goal column for the game at 5:37 of the third period when she tallied her 11th of the season. Holmes and Laura Stroessner assisted on the goal. Princeton scored twice more before the end of the game as Anderson and Lisa Rasmussen each added unassisted tallies in the games final six minutes.
Princeton goaltender Megan Van Beusekom made 17 saves for her fourth shutout of the season and improved her record to 8-5-1.
