Deja vu - For the third time in four years, Princeton and Cornell are both undefeated in the Ivy League when they meet. The only exception was last year, when Cornell was undefeated and Princeton had one loss.
A league of their own - Princeton and Cornell are the only two remaining teams undefeated in the Ivy League.
More league - Princeton and Cornell have combined to win 37 of the 47 Ivy League men's lacrosse championships to date.
Big game hunting - A Cornell win over Princeton would earn the Big Red at least a tie for the Ivy League title and would clinch the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. A Princeton win over Cornell would leave Princeton in need of one win in its last two league games (against Dartmouth/Brown) to win the automatic bid and at least a share of its ninth straight league title.
We're honored - The 2002 All-Ivy League first-team featured three unanimous selections. All three will be playing in this week's Princeton-Cornell game: Princeton's Damien Davis and Ryan Boyle and Cornell's Ryan McClay. Seeing red - Princeton has defeated Cornell seven straight times.
Back and forth - Princeton has defeated Cornell 12 of the last 13 years. Prior to that, Cornell defeated Princeton 22 straight times.
Back and forth and back - Princeton went 21-1-2 in the first 24 games of the series. Cornell then won 24 of the next 25; Princeton has since won 12 of 13.
Welcome back - Ryan Boyle returned from his hamstring injury (suffered April 1 at Penn) with six assists in the first 23 minutes against Harvard last week.
Doing dishes - Ryan Boyle's sixth assist against Harvard made him the third Princeton player with at least 100 assists in a career, joining Kevin Lowe '94 and Jon Hess '98.
More dishes - Ryan Boyle reached the 100 assist mark in his 37th career game. Kevin Lowe reached 100 assists in 35 career games; Jon Hess reached 100 assists in his 48th career game.
Boyle-ing point - Ryan Boyle leads Division I in scoring and assists per game (through games of 4/13).
Hart attack - Sean Hartofilis leads Division I in goals per game (through games of 4/13).
More Hart - Sean Hartofilis is fifth all-time at Princeton in goals scored with 115. He needs three to tie B.J. Prager for fourth and five to tie Justin Tortolani for third.
Still more Hart - Sean Hartofilis has 30 goals in nine games this season. His previous season-best (15 games) is 33 goals, his sophomore year.
Even more Hart - Sean Hartofilis is averaging 3.33 goals per game. Should Princeton play the maximum number of games possible (17), Hartofiilis at his current pace would have 56.7 goals; Jesse Hubbard's 1996 school single-season record is 53.
Last Hart - Sean Hartofilis has more games this season with at least three goals than he does with fewer than three goals. As an aside, Jesse Hubbard had more games in his career with at least three goals than with fewer than three goals.
Good as Gould - Julian Gould's goals-against average of 7.29 is nearly a full goal better than a year ago (8.25).
Brad to the bone - Brad Dumont has 52 career goals, second to Sean Hartofilis among current Tigers.
D plus - Damien Davis has allowed the man he has guarded to score one goal in the last five games and five goals in nine games.
Just passing through - Jason Doneger has one assist in each of the last three games after not having any career assists prior to that.
Record chasing - Ryan Boyle has 18 assists in three Ivy League games this season. The league record for assists in a league season is 26 (set by Cornell's Pat Gallagher in 1972 and equalled by Cornell's Tim Goldstein in 1987).
Face it - Princeton ranks last in the Ivy League in face-off percentage (.463).
Goal oriented - Jason Doneger and Sean Hartofilis have combined for 51 of Princeton's 107 goals (47.7%). Doneger, Hartofilis and Brad Dumont have combined for 60 of Princeton's 81 goals (63%).
Casino royale - Drew Casino has five goals in his last three games after having no goals in the first six games.
More Casino - Drew Casino has five goals on his last 12 shots after having no goals on his first 21 shots.
Net results - Sean Hartofilis and Jason Doneger are the only two Princeton players who have scored at least one goal in every game.
History lesson - Princeton and Syracuse have met in each of the last three NCAA championship games. Only once in the history of Division I team tournaments have two teams met in more than three consecutive championship games (USC-UCLA in men's tennis from 1960-64).
Veterans day - Damien Davis is the only current Tiger who has started every game his career.
All that you can be - Senior midfielder Josh White spent two years in the Army out of high school and still is an active member of the reserves.
Old friends - Seniors Owen Daly, Brad Dumont and Joe Rosenbaum are in their fourth season together at Princeton after playing four years together at McDonogh School in Baltimore.
The write stuff - Longstick midfielder Joe Rosenbaum won the 2002 Ward Prize for Fiction from Princeton's creative writing department.
What's your source? - Defenseman Brian Lieberman is doing his senior psychology thesis on coaching and motivation.
Trophy case - Princeton head coach Bill Tierney has won eight NCAA championships in the last 18 seasons (two as an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins in the 1980s, six as Princeton's head coach).
U-S-A, U-S-A - Ryan Boyle was a member of the U.S. team that finished first at last summer's World Championships in Australia.
