Ryan Boyle, the nation's leading scorer, and Damien Davis, who shut out eight of 13 opponents this season, were named unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selections in men's lacrosse in a vote of the league's seven head coaches. Brad Dumont and Sean Hartofilis were also named first-team All-Ivy selections.
Boyle and Davis were unanimous selections for the second consecutive year. Dumont was a first-team selection a year ago as well, while Hartofilis was named first-team in 2001 and second-team a year ago.
In addition to the first-team selections, Princeton also had two second-team and three honorable mention selections. Josh White was named to the second-team in the midfield, while Brian Lieberman was second-team on defense. Midfielder Owen Daly, longstick midfielder Joe Rosenbaum and attackman Jason Doneger were honorable mention picks. Boyle leads the nation in scoring with 54 points in 11 games (4.9 per game) on 10 goals and 44 assists. He set an Ivy League record with 32 assists in six league games and had at least five assists in five of six league games. Davis, who shut out six players who were leading their team in scoring, has started all 58 games of his career.
Hartofilis scored 36 goals and is third all-time at Princeton with 121. Dumont has 18 goals in the midfield.
Princeton opens the 2003 NCAA tournament Saturday at home against Albany (1).
