Men's Water Polo Opens Easterns With 12-9 Win Over MIT

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Princeton men's water polo team began its quest for a CWPA Eastern Championship Saturday morning with a 12-9 win over MIT at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium. With the win Princeton advances to the semifinals this afternoon at 6:30 p.m. against Harvard.
Princeton led the whole way and the outcome was never in doubt, but sluggish play let MIT keep the score close. Nicholas Seaver led the way offensively, scoring five goals for the Tigers. John Stover and Zach Beckman each added a pair. Peter Sabbatini and Scott Syverson both saw action in goal. Sabbatini made seven saves and Syverson made two.
Princeton is now 23-4 overall this season and advances to this evenings semifinals against Harvard. Harvard advanced after a 9-8 win over Salem International.
