Princeton, N.J. - Three Tigers scored goals at the Princeton women's hockey team defeated Connecticut 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Baker Rink. Princeton took a 2-0 lead in the first 6:04 of the game and held from there as the Tigers improved to 5-4-1 on the season.
The game had eventful first 10 minutes as three of the game four goals came in that time span. Princeton sophomore Laura Watt gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead at 2:38 on the power play on a goal assisted by sophomore Liz Keady and senior Katharine Maglione.
Princeton made it 2-0 at 6:04 when sophomore Kim Pearce potted her sixth of the year also on the power play with an assist to sophomore Kate Hession. Connecticut got within a goal at the 10:16 mark when Bridget King scored a one-timer on the power play.
From there neither team couls score until junior Heather Jackson scored into an empty Connecticut net with 1:29 remaining.
Junior Roxanne Gaudiel made 22 saves for the win.
Princeton completes its two-game set with UConn tomorrow at 1 p.m.
