Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton women's hockey team skated to a scoreless 0-0 tie on Friday night against Colgate at Hobey Baker Rink. Junior goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel made 23 saves for Princeton while Brook Wheeler made 35 for Colgate as neither team could find the back of the net.
Princeton's best scoring chance of the game came when junior Heather Jackson got the puck off a turnover at the Colgate blue line but could not get a clean shot off as she headed towards the Raider goal and her effort was stopped by Wheeler early in the first period.
Colgate's Tara French had one of the Raiders' best chances when she took a slap shot from inside the blue line that defelected off of the skate of sophomore Kate Hession and flew just to the left of the far post late in the third period.
Both goaltenders earned shutouts in the game. For Gaudiel it was her second straight and her third of the season. For Wheeler, it was her second shutout of the year.
Princeton is now 6-4-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the ECAC Hockey League. Colgate is 6-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in league play.
The Tigers complete the weekend tomorrow afternoon against Cornell at 4 p.m.
