Peter Trombino has been named Ivy League men's lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Trombino had two goals and an assist in Princeton's 10-8 win over Dartmouth and established the Princeton school record for consecutive games with at least one goal to start a freshman season, breaking the eight-year-old record he had shared with Lorne Smith.
Trombino is third on Princeton in scoring with 27 points and goals with 16. His goal total and point total are both sixth all-time for Princeton freshmen.
Princeton, which enters the final weekend of the regular season at 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League, travels to Brown this Saturday (face-off has been moved from noon to 1 p.m.). A Princeton win against the Bears would give the Tigers a share of the Ivy League title with Cornell, though the Big Red have already clinched the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Princeton has won at least a share of nine straight Ivy titles. The Tigers figure to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
