PRINCETON -
Princeton University Athletics announced a three-year corporate partnership agreement with Tyco International. The agreement secures Tyco as a lead partner of many of the prominent community outreach programs supported by Princeton Athletics.
Elements of the agreement include: lead partnership of the new "Tiger Tickets on Tyco" program, a community outreach activity which offers free football, basketball, ice hockey and lacrosse tickets to local, deserving community organizations; support of the "Reading with the Tigers" program, an existing, popular scholastic outreach program designed to encourage summer reading by elementary and middle school students in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey; and support of "National Girls and Women's In Sports Day," an interactive community sports fair for local girls which precedes a Princeton Women's Basketball game.
"This partnership is a great opportunity for Princeton Athletics," Princeton Director of Athletics Gary Walters said. "We are very proud of our community outreach programs and partnering with a corporation such as Tyco will allow us to sustain and expand our current efforts."
Charlie Young, Tyco's Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, said the partnership represents Tyco's dedication to the Princeton community, which is home to the company's new world headquarters.
"It makes sense for Tyco to partner with Princeton Athletics, given our organizations' shared commitment of giving back to the community," said Mr. Young. "At Tyco, we strive to be a good corporate citizen, and that means contributing, financially as well as through volunteerism, to organizations dedicated to improving the communities where our employees live and work. There is no doubt that Princeton Athletics, with its many educational and sports endeavors aimed at enriching the lives of youth, is such an organization."
