Princeton, NJ - Displaced Tulane University Students - currently attending Princeton University for the semester - will assist in the Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort by collecting donations at the Princeton vs. Yale Football game at 1 pm on Saturday, November 12th in Princeton Stadium.
Tulane University students will be accepting donations at Princeton Stadium prior to the Princeton football game against Ivy league rival Yale, when ticket sales begin at 11 am, until the end of the first quarter. The first 200 people providing a donation of $10 or more will receive a t-shirt, complements of the Princeton Varsity Club. All donations will go to the Princeton University Coordinated Undergraduate Fund for Hurricane Katrina Relief. These students will be volunteering their time in support of their campus and others located in New Orleans and the local communities who were devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
"We are happy to partner with these remarkable students to support this worthy cause," said Jamie Zaninovich, Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Relations and Marketing. "We want to do whatever we can do to assist those in the affected areas to regain some sense of normalcy."
The football game features the long standing Ivy League rivalry between Princeton and Yale, and is part of the unofficial Harvard-Yale-Princeton (H-Y-P) Championship. Princeton (6-2 overall, 4-1 Ivy League) has won the first leg by beating Harvard, 27-24, back on October 22. With a win against Yale, Princeton will move closer to its first Ivy League crown in 10 years.
