Men's Volleyball Eliminated In EIVA Quarterfinal By Rutgers-Newark

NEWARK, N.J. - The Princeton men's volleyball team dropped a pair of close games and couldn't recover in a 3-0 loss at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday. The loss eliminated Princeton from the EIVA postseason and ended the Tigers' season with a 7-13 record.
Princeton, the fifth seed in the EIVA playoffs, dropped the first two games 30-27 and 34-32. Rutgers-Newark, the fourth seed, took advantage of the emotional edge earned by the game two win and ran away with a 30-21 win in the final game.
Freshman Peter Eichler joined Vitousek with a team-high 13 kills, while Robinson added 12 kkills. As a team, Princeton hit .237, although Rutgers-Newark had a big edge with a .361 attack percentage.
Junior setter Jack Pichard recorded 45 assists for Princeton, while libero Mark Stevens had a team-high 14 digs.
Rutgers-Newark will face Penn State in the EIVA semifinals on Thursday night.
