Four Princeton Men's Lacrosse Players Earn Spots On U.S. Team For 2006 World Championships

Princeton's men's lacrosse program will be represented by four players on the United States national team that will compete at the World Championships in 2006 in London, Ont.
Ryan Boyle '04, Matt Striebel '01 and Trevor Tierney '01 return to the U.S. team after being part of the winning U.S. team at the 2002 championships in Perth, Australia. Christian Cook '98 will be making his U.S. team debut as the fourth Princeton player selected.
The 23-member team was chosen after 120 players were invited to try out during a four-day process that ended when the team was announced Thursday afternoon. The tryouts, in which 12 current or former Princeton players participated, were held at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
Only Syracuse, with five players, including all three Powell brothers, had more players on the team than Princeton. No other Ivy League players made the team.
Boyle, Cook, Tierney and Striebel combined to win eight NCAA championships while at Princeton.
