Jason Doneger, who graduated Tuesday as the seventh-leading goal-scorer in Princeton's men's lacrosse history, was selected Wednesday by the Rochester Rattlers in the second round of the Major League Lacrosse draft. Doneger was the first selection by the Rattlers, who had traded their No. 1 pick.
Doneger was the 11th player picked in the five-round draft of the six MLL teams.
Doneger finished his career with 104 goals, leaving him seventh all-time at Princeton. He was also an Academic All-Ivy League and Academic All-America pick during his career.
Kyle Harrison of Johns Hopkins was the No. 1 pick in the draft, chosen by the New Jersey Pride, and Harrison was followed by Jed Prossner of North Carolina, who went No. 2 to the Philadelphia Barrage. Brodie Merrill of Georgetown was the No. 3 pick.
Doneger's brother Adam was the MLL Rookie of the Year two years ago. His younger brother Michael is a member of the Hopkins team that won the NCAA championship this week.
