PRINCETON - Princeton University's Department of Athletics is pleased to announce "Hockey and Hoops Night" to be held on Friday, January 13, which will provide fans with a two-for-one admission special for the Princeton hockey and basketball games that evening. The contests will feature the men's hockey team battling nationally-ranked Colgate at 7 p.m. at Baker Rink, while across campus, at Jadwin Gymnasium, the Princeton men's basketball squad plays host to Columbia at 9 p.m.
Princeton is offering this opportunity to catch exciting ECAC hockey action, coupled with the Ivy League opener for the men's basketball team at a special value. Fans purchasing a ticket to the men's hockey game against Colgate on the 13th will also get admission to the men's basketball game against Columbia at 9 p.m. that evening. If you have a ticket to the basketball game, come early and it will gain you admission to the hockey game at 7 p.m. This offer is subject to availability.
The Princeton Men's Ice Hockey team is fresh off of a second-place finish at the Denver Cup-featuring some of the top teams in the country-including a 4-1 victory over two-time defending NCAA champion Denver University. The Tigers are led defensively by netminder Eric Leroux (2.45 GAA) and on the opposite end of the ice by Grant Goeckner-Zoeller (6 goals, 10 pts.) and Kevin Westgarth (8 assists, 11 pts.).
The men's basketball team heads into the Ivy League slate looking to return to its success of two years ago, which carried it to an Ivy title and NCAA tournament berth. Princeton is led by local-star Noah Savage and his nearly 12 points per game, along with a supporting cast of 11 players who average more than 12 minutes per game.
Tickets purchased in advance for either contest are $9 for adults and $5 for children. All Ice Hockey tickets are $9 the day of the game, while tickets for Basketball are $12 at the gate.
Tickets may be purchased the day of the game or in advance by calling 609.258.3538 or online at www.goprincetontigers.com.
