Princeton Ranked Fourth In Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason Men's Poll

The Princeton men's lacrosse team has been ranked fourth in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook preseason poll.

Virginia, the defending NCAA champion and a perfect 17-0 a year ago, was ranked first in the poll, followed by No. 2 Johns Hopkins and No. 3 Syracuse. Those three teams, along with Princeton, comprise the field for the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Classic March 3 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, the site of the 2007 Final Four. Princeton will take on Hopkins in the opener, followed by Syracuse and Virginia in the second game.

In addition to the Hopkins game, Princeton also has games against Virginia and Syracuse and will play eight of its 13 regular-season games against teams ranked in the preseason Top 25.

Princeton is the highest ranked Ivy school in the poll, followed by No. 8 Cornell, No. 13 Penn, No. 22 Dartmouth and No. 23 Harvard. Princeton also plays No. 15 Hofstra during the season, which opens Feb. 24 at home against Canisius.

Princeton returns eight starters and five All-Americas from last year's team that went 11-5, tied Cornell for the league title and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.
