Men's Squash Sweeps Brown To Maintain Perfect Record
December 02, 2006 | Men's Squash
PROVIDENCE, R.I.
? The Princeton men's squash team moved to 3-0 on the season, 2-0 in the Ivy League, with a dominant 9-0 victory at Brown. Princeton won 27 of 28 games, and its powerful top three sophomores each won with sweeps.
No. 1 player Mauricio Sanchez claimed a 9-3, 9-4, 9-2 victory over Dan Petrie, while classmate Kimlee Wong cruised to a 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 win at No. 2 over Pat Haynes. The third sophomore, Hesham El Halaby, continues to build off the red-hot ending to his freshman season with a 9-3, 9-1, 9-3 win over Adam Greenberg.
Princeton's final regular-season match of 2006 will take place Sunday afternoon at Williams. While the nine-man season won't continue until Jan. 31 against Penn, the Tigers will compete in the national 5-man championship next weekend in New Haven. Princeton finished in second place last year, an early indication as to just how strong the squad would be.
