PRINCETON -- Ohio State's Tessa Bonhomme scored midway through the third period to snap a 2-2 tie and lift the ninth-ranked Buckeyes to a 3-2 win over the Princeton women's hockey team on Saturday afternoon at Baker Rink. Princeton trailed 2-0 in the game before scoring twice in a 2:04 span of the third period to even the game at 2-2.
Ohio State took a 1-0 lead 11:07 into the game when Bonhomme scored her first goal of the afternoon on a point shot through a screen. The Buckeyes made the score 2-0 56 seconds into the third period when Morgan Marziali deflected a Lisa Chesson shot into the Tiger goal.
Ohio State held the two-goal edge for just 1:47 before the Tigers got on the board at 2:43 when junior Lizzie Keady stole the puck and scored her fifth of the season, unassisted, from the slot. Two minutes later the Tigers evened the score on the power play when senior Dina McCumber's point shot beat Ohio State netminder Erika Vanderveer. Sophomore Annie Greenwood and senior Kim Pearce added assists on the goal.
Bonhomme broke the deadlock at 10:50 of the period when her shot from the top of the circle beat Young high. Erin Keys and Mallory Peckels added assists on the goal.
